Growth doesn’t come from victory alone — it’s forged through every wound, mistake, and moment of resolve.
Gaining Experience
Experience Points (EXP) represent what your character learns through adventure, hardship, and discovery.
At the end of each session, the GM awards Experience based on the overall challenge. On average, characters should earn about
3 Experience Points per session, depending on the challenges faced and goals achieved. You can also use the table below:
Session Type
Easy Session
Normal Session
Boss encounters or major story events
Experience Gained
2 EXP
4 EXP
6 EXP
Additionally, all characters with the lowest level in the group gains +1 EXP for that session. This keeps progression balanced and helps newer or less-experienced characters catch up naturally.
Spending Experience
To level up, you must spend 6 Experience Points. This means when you level up, you should reduce your current Experience by 6.
Example:
If you had 9 EXP and level up, you spend 6 to increase your level and keep 3 EXP remaining.
You can hold onto more than 6 EXP without leveling up right away. Sometimes your character may need to justify their next step in growth through story or roleplay before advancing.
Learning Through the World
Leveling up is more than just numbers — it’s a reflection of how your character changes through the story.
Sometimes before advancing, you may need to discuss with your GM how this new growth happens.
-
Gaining martial skill might come from rigorous training, a duel, or a mentor.
-
Learning to wield Aura or other supernatural abilities might require finding a teacher or artifact.
-
Expanding into a new class or specialization could mean taking time to study, travel, or prove yourself in-story.
This approach keeps leveling tied to narrative logic — your character’s evolution should make sense in the world around them.
