Step 1: Choose a Race

Select your race from those available. Your character’s race defines their heritage and the gifts they carry from birth. Each grants unique traits that affect how your character looks, feels, and interacts with the world.

Some characters may be born as Purebloods. A Pureblood gains one additional racial trait, but must also take a flaw. This represents both the heightened power and the burden of a stronger bloodline.

Step 2: Choose a Background

Select your background from those available. Before becoming an adventurer, your character lived another life. Your background reflects this past and provides starting skills, connections, and roleplay hooks.

Step 3: Choose first Class

Your class represents the path your character now follows. Your class grants your first abilities and defines your role in battle.

At the start, you may only select a Basic Class. These form the foundation of your character’s training.

  • Fighter – Warriors who master weapons, armor, and direct combat.

  • Specialist – Skilled adventurers who rely on speed, precision, and cunning.

  • Adept – Students of aura who wield elemental and mystical power.

Advanced classes are discovered later, through growth, story progression, or special teachers.

Step 4: Assign Attributes

All characters begin with the following Core Attributes:

  • Might: +0

  • Finesse: +0

  • Mind: +0

Instead of this, you may use an alternate spread of -1, +0, +1.

All Attribute Modifiers begin at +0 apart from:

  • Your Race grants a +1 bonus to a specific Attribute Modifier.

  • You then choose a second Attribute Modifier to increase by +1, representing your natural talent.

No single Attribute Modifier can be raised by more than +1 during character creation.

Step 5: Choose Starting Equipment

Every character starts play with 100 silver coins (sc). You may purchase any items from the Equipment but no single item may cost more than 50 sc. Silver coins are the default currency, and unless otherwise noted, all prices are listed in sc.

Any unspent silver is kept and carries over into play.

Step 6: Finishing Touches

At this stage, the foundation of your hero is complete. What remains are the details that make them alive:

  • Choose a name, age, and appearance.

  • Decide on their beliefs, quirks, or habits.

  • Consider their goals: why they adventure, what they seek, and what they fear losing.

Keep in mind how your race, background, and class shape your worldview. A character is more than numbers — they are the heart of the story.
