Shield Combat

You have mastered multiple shield fighting styles. At the start of each of your turns, choose one of the following stances. The chosen stance remains active until the start of your next turn. You may change your stance at the start of each of your turns without spending an action.

Defiant

While wielding a shield, you cannot be Flanked.

Effortless Guard

While wielding a shield, reduce its Strength Requirement by 1.

Reliable Block

When you perform a Block Reaction, you always reduce the damage by at least 4.

Shield Advance

After you perform a Block Reaction, you may move up to 2 m toward the attacker.

Shield Deflect

If your shield has the Deflect Property, increase your Block Die by one size (no die → d6 → d8 → d10). Stacks with Deflect Talent. As usual, a Block Reaction cannot reduce damage below 1. This stance cannot be used with Shield Strike at the same time.

Shield Strike

If your shield has the Deflect Property, you can use your shield as a Club weapon. While doing so, the normal rules for Two-Weapon Fighting apply. This stance cannot be used with Shield Deflect at the same time.
