Control Winds

Air

5th Level Breath Control

Action:

Main Action

Duration:

Concentration

You seize control over the surrounding air currents, shaping the winds within a radius of up to 1 kilometer around you.

Wind strength is divided into the following categories:

  • Still — Calm air with almost no noticeable movement. Smoke rises straight upward.

  • Breeze — Gentle to moderate wind. Clothing, leaves, smoke, and light objects move naturally in the airflow.

  • Strong Wind — Powerful gusts capable of swaying trees and scattering loose objects.

  • Gale — Violent winds that can break branches, slam shutters, heavily disrupt ranged attacks, and make normal movement difficult.

  • Storm — Devastating winds capable of uprooting trees, damaging weak structures, throwing creatures off balance, and making flight nearly impossible.

When you cast this Technique, you may increase or decrease the current wind strength by one category over the course of the following minute.

If you wish to change the wind strength by two categories, you must spend 1 Focus Point and channel the Technique for 10 minutes instead.

You may freely change the direction of winds up to the Breeze category. Strong Winds may only have their direction altered gradually, up to roughly 90 degrees from their natural course. Winds of Gale strength or greater are too massive to fully redirect.

Smoke, fog, ash, rain, snow, clouds, and other airborne phenomena move according to the altered winds. Flying creatures, ranged attacks, sailing vessels, fires, and similar effects are affected naturally by the current wind conditions at the GM’s discretion.

If you stop maintaining Concentration, the winds naturally return to their previous strength and direction over the course of the following minute.
